Job Title: Communications System Programmer
Duration: Direct Hire
Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ OR Omaha, NE
Required Pay Scale: 120000

Job Summary:
As part of the mainframe communications department, you will configure, implements, and troubleshoot TCP/IP, VTAM, and other communications protocols including implementing AT-TLS and other security solutions.
What you will do?
- You will work with senior team members to perform problem determination and resolution, capture and transmit system dumps, closely work with vendor’s technical support, apply fixes and patches, coordinate testing and implementation of fixes and new versions, and work with other mainframe-based or midrange-based technical teams on production roll-out.
- Work with internal customers to clarify technical requests, testing and validation, and project support needs.
- Work with capacity and performance teams in proactively addressing potential performance issues impacting service levels.
- Work with computer operations to quickly resolve incidents and automate operational processes such as IPLs and stand-alone dump processing.
- Support and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Provide on-call support.
What you must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or directly related experience.
- Minimum 5 year's experience.
What would be nice to have:
- Assembler Language programming
- Mainframe Transmission experience
