Job Title: Senior Python Developer
Duration: 18 Month W2 Contract
Location: New York City
Required Pay Scale: $105/hour This is the MAX
One of the projects focuses on structured initiatives aimed at migrating front office functionality into technology. This role will involve working closely with senior level structured traders and MDs who are hands on with coding. The team will need to understand existing business functionality and rewrite those applications onto a new platform developed by Sandeep’s group. Because the platform is new, the team will also be responsible for maintaining the surrounding framework, which is built on Quartz.
The other project sits within his broader QIS (Quant Investment Strategies) team. They currently have an application that manages products and publishes them to clients through channels such as Bloomberg. The specific work involves a business line called Custom Baskets, whose existing platform provides nearly the same functionality as the QIS app. The goal is to migrate and consolidate all of those features into the QIS application, effectively unifying both systems into a single platform.
Top 3 Needs:
- Python (not scripting, but building systems – designing services, API interactions)
- API Expertise: Experience with REST APIs, designing API services, and working with complex API interactions.
- Problem solving abilities & being proactive—especially for navigating the complexity of the QIS environment, reviewing service logs, identifying issues, and triaging problems.
Nice to Have:
- Quartz HUGE plus – need prior manager name if they have this from BofA
- React or Dash GUI skills would be beneficial. He currently has no GUI expertise on the team—this isn’t a full stack role, but any front end experience is helpful. Since the UI is internal, lack of GUI experience isn’t a dealbreaker.
