Job Title: Server Side Java Developer
Duration: 18 Month W2 Contract
Location: New York City
Required Pay Scale: $60-$70/hour
Job Summary:
Job Description We are seeking a Senior Server-Side Java Developer with strong experience in market data systems to design, develop, and support high-performance, low-latency backend applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Java 17 and a solid understanding of real-time market data processing, trading systems, or financial data platforms.
This role involves building scalable, resilient server-side components that handle high-volume data streams and integrate with complex financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance server-side applications using Java 17
- Build and maintain systems for real-time market data ingestion, processing, and distribution
- Optimize applications for low latency, high throughput, and scalability
- Work with large datasets and streaming technologies to support trading and analytics platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including traders, quants, and infrastructure teams
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements
- Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Server-Side Java (Java 17)
- Proven experience working with market data systems (real-time feeds, pricing data, tick data, etc.)
- Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning
- Experience building scalable, distributed backend systems
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with C++, particularly in low-latency or high-performance systems
- Experience with Python for scripting, data analysis, or automation
- Familiarity with trading systems, financial instruments, or capital markets
