Senior Cloud Engineer – Microservices (AWS) Location: Plano, TX (Hybrid – Onsite Required)

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with deep experience in cloud-native microservices architectures to support a fast-paced, enterprise-scale environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in modern engineering ecosystems built on AWS, automation, CI/CD pipelines, and highly scalable distributed systems.
You will help design, build, and optimize microservices powering mission-critical applications in a highly secure and performance-driven setting.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build cloud-native microservices in AWS
- Develop RESTful APIs and event-driven services
- Engineer scalable backend solutions using Python (preferred) or Java
- Develop UI components using Angular
- Build server-side applications and APIs using Node.js
- Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices
- Partner with DevOps teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure high availability, observability, and security of cloud solutions
- Contribute to performance tuning and resiliency improvements
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience designing and implementing microservices architecture
- Hands-on AWS experience (Lambda, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, etc.)
- Proficiency in Python (Java acceptable)
- Experience with Node.js and RESTful API development
- Front-end development experience with Angular
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and resiliency patterns
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise financial services environments
- Familiarity with domain-driven design (DDD) principles
- Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
- Exposure to monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, Splunk, Datadog, etc.)
- Experience working in Agile product teams
