VMWARE ENGINEER
No c2c W2 ONLY
Pay rate is $55-$60/hr W2
Contract 18-24 months
Hybrid in Atlanta, Chicago, and Richmond VA - MUST BE LOCAL TO BE CONSIDERED
Must Haves / Required Skills:
- VMWARE eSXI 6.7 + 7.0 (currently on 7.0)
- Dell + HP Server Hardware
- VSAN and experience with firmware maintaining, patching, troubleshooting VMware vSphere and ESXi 7.x beyond VM support.
- Excellent communication skills
Systems engineer responsible for supporting a production VMware based Cloud service on HP and Dell server hardware. Includes troubleshooting issues, patching ESXi hosts and VCSAs, vulnerability remediation, configuration updates and firmware upgrades.
Strong understanding and experience with security and authentication of VMWare and hardware interfaces
Strong networking, infrastructure knowledge and troubleshooting ability, and ability to manage the remediation/escalation
Experience in executing technical strategy
Ability to work in a high pressure environment where time to delivery is of paramount importance
Experience in communication with and working on global teams within large organization
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to follow, define, document and implement technical procedures
Experience in performance analysis and troubleshooting of VMware vSphere and ESXi 7.x, beyond VM support
Strong understanding ability to work to an ITIL framework
Experience with automated firmware patching for HP ProLiant and Dell server hardware
Requires weekend work, typically once per month
Minimum 3 years experience with in Software Defined Storage (VSAN) and experience with maintaining, patching, troubleshooting VMware vSphere and ESXi 7.x beyond VM support.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level knowledge and experience with HP ProLiant and Dell server hardware platform configuration with associated firmware and management interfaces¿
PowerShell Scripting
Knowledge of BitBucket and Jira
Experience with vRealize products (vRA, vROPs, vRLI)
