Foundry Production Manager
Location: Salem, VA (Onsite)  – relocation assistance can be provided
Direct hire, full time perm opportunity
Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision care, 401k, paid holidays and paid time off  
Salary Range:  $85,000k to $95,000K starting pay
 
REQUIREMENTS AND OVERVIEW:

  • This candidate will be side by side with internal folks to be a standalone business unit
  • Need to be driven, and comfortable in fast paced environment
  • Company just hired a manufacturing engineer for this foundry, and the company will be adding new machines and enlarging facility
  • Corporate will be communicating regularly with and getting Input from the Foundry Manager and the manager will work closely with the manufacturing engineer
  • Need to have a strong floor presence
  • Will be overseeing everything from safety, quality, personnel records,  timecards, performance, etc.
  • Will be involved in procurement/purchasing
  • Production planning
  • Managing people
  • Must Have strong leadership and production experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Need strong leadership, people management skill
  • Strong business acumen / reporting / KPIs - someone who can talk with corporate about KPIs/metrics in productivity, quality, costing, reducing waste, scrap tracking, etc.
  • Must have Lean Manufacturing, prefer Six Sigma Certs,
  • Minimum of 5 yrs. of metalworking process and at least of 5 years of more progressive manufacturing leadership. 

 
JOB DUTIES
The Foundry Manager, while directly reporting to Operations Manager will indirectly support with reporting to other business leaders on key metrics and updates as well as collaborative activities.  A few examples would be:

  • Safety incidents, investigations, concerns reporting, near misses, RCA’s and CA’s
  • Quality reporting, COPQ/PPM activities, scrap/yield tracking, recovery action plans and updates
  • Personnel record keeping/reporting, performance & disciplinary actions etc.
  • Production activities and measures such as schedule attainment, productivity, closed order variances
  • Inventory management & tracking
  • Continuous improvement projects tracking and reporting
  • Costing/Quoting Support
  • R&D, Prototyping and experiments support
  • Provide technical support to sales and customer service on all routine and special projects. This includes design evaluations, cost analysis, completion time/status updates and quality reviews.
