Field Test Engineer - Controls Systems
Oak Creek WI
This is a direct hire position with salary, overtime and great benefits!
Travel Up to 75%
As a Test Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to grow fast and shape the future of our company; all the while working with leaders in the manufacturing and railroad industry. Our Test Engineers II will be tasked with:
Equipment -- 60%
- Travel to the field to aid in the development and testing of new products and equipment
- Troubleshoot machine issues including but not limited to mechanical systems, hydraulic systems and electric systems
- Develop and execute test and validation plans for NPD projects
- Create clear and informative reports and updates for the projects being tested
Design -- 40%
- Analyze and design small to midsize projects, generally aiding the assigned test projects
- Performs engineering calculations on new and existing designs
- Maintains individual design schedule to ensure on-time completion as determined by the project leader
- Completes test and validation exercises within pre-defined schedule and cost targets
- Manage small to medium sized projects
- Supervision of test technicians and operators in the field and on campus
- Travel Up to 75%
General
- Self manages projects and timelines. Provides updates as necessary.
- May be required to coordinate the contribution of other team members
- Meets requirements on function, reliability, safety and performance of equipment operation
- Able to function under minimal supervision
We are looking for Design Engineering professionals with:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred)
- 2+ years of experience in a relevant field
- Strong analytical mindset and skills
- Experience with heavy equipment
- Experience with hydraulic and electronic control systems
- Railroad industry experience is a plus
- 3D CAD modeling proficiency (Creo experience is a plus)
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at deadlines at one time
