Hot IT Jobs to Watch for in 2021

Happy new year, happy 2021! From 2010 – 2020 there were so many innovations in tech. Things like social media transitioned from MySpace to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and more; the iPad was introduced, along with the since-retired Google Glass; the iwatch and drones became common in many households. People have speculated that the robots will soon be taking over (every year since 2000). Is this the year that they finally take over? Many people are aware that many advancements have been made when it comes to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Does that mean jobs will soon be replaced by robots?
The good news is no, robots aren’t going to be taking over this year, and even if some processes become more automated with the help of machine learning, artificial intelligence, or other technologies, someone is going to have to program these machines and keep them maintained so while some jobs may go away, new jobs will be created in their place.
Since we aren’t aware of any robots taking over any jobs, especially tech jobs, we wanted to share tech jobs that are going to be hot this year.

Cybersecurity

Any job within cybersecurity is going to be very in-demand this year. Do you remember the recent cyber attack that impacted governmental departments throughout the nation via a software named SolarWinds? That is just one of the many examples of data breaches that occur. The average cost of a data breach is $3.86 million and experts say that security breaches have increased by 67% since 2014.

Cloud Engineers and Cloud Architects

As more workforces are adopting a remote or a remote-workplace hybrid model, the cloud is increasingly more important. What were once networked systems are now becoming systems that are cloud-based and organizations are going to need cloud engineers and cloud architects to not only develop new cloud-based systems but also convert old systems.

Software Developers

Software developers will be in high demand this year. Almost every company operates based upon technology from Zoom to Uber to McDonald’s, without tech, their businesses wouldn’t be able to operate or thrive as we know them to do today. The tech needs to be constantly updated and improved to stay ahead of competitors, minimize threats such as data breaches, and provide great user experiences. Software developers are the key to the tech being great and thus a company’s success.

Data Scientists and Data Analysts

Data scientists and data analysts become more important to organizations each year. Data scientists and data analysts analyze data from a bunch of different data points to help organizations make strategic, fact-based decisions in a timely manner.
